I am Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge. I was German Kennedy Memorial Fellow at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (Harvard University) (2022-2023). I am an expert in insecurity, inequality and politics. I have published extensively in sociology, social policy and political science. My work has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, and Le Monde and on the BBC.

My new book (Insecurity Politics) is coming out in early 2026 with Princeton University Press.
